Basic first aid is hardly rocket science Mr Dietrich!Originally posted by rudel.dietrich:Most of their soldiers are under education farmers or those from urban centers but just as under educated.

Hmmm interesting, ta......

Hahaha not a bad little rap!

Why not?Originally posted by M1A1TankCommander:Yeah, its basicaly a diesel generator, but its an external unit that hooks up in the back, and you normally dont have them with you

Don't the M1A2s have a secondary diesel engine for use when stationary?

Ehem, yes, you're not alone sir....Originally posted by LC-:When I first heard of this game being in development I was a little hesitant. Not that for one minute I doubted the efforts of BTS in making an absolutly great game, but because I didnt think that a modern style game would suit me.
I have come to say Im doubting myself once again and Im man enough to say, "it looks like Im going to be wrong." The game looks and sounds absolutly amazing and I cant wait to get my hands on this one.

Wasn't that Panorama? Was an interesting doc wasn't it. The AC was Dutch IIRC?
What suprised me was the mortar/MG incident. They're sitting in the middle of nowhere in the land rovers, zero cover, taking mortars and mg fire, and in the most disinterested manor you can imagine the sgt says "we're being bracketed". Sure it looked to be extreme range for the hmg, 1-2km but the mortars were still landing fairly close. In a bloody land rover I wouldn't have hung around!

Hey hey, looks interesting, cheers Pat!

Nooooo! Really hoped this would be sorted, firing on fixed lines is such an integral part of the HMGs role, that is a shame!Originally posted by MikeyD:I suspect I'm not going to be permitted to fire off my ammo into the night in this game either.

On the other hand designers might want to simulate "in transit" scenarios, at least in part, and it is after all plausible, if not particularly sensible or practical. Additionally it can't be exploited, even in CMx1 look what happens to exposed infantry on vehicles when they get a whiff of small arms fire, and surely it can't be difficult/time consuming to code?
-
It was represented in CMx1. Exposure varied according to angle of attack. You muppet, is there no end to your nonsense....

And if memory serves correctly we fired some Tomahawks at Serb targets during Kosovo, maybe Splendid again?

Pete,Originally posted by Peter Cairns:Martin Krejcirik,
To my recollection the only SSN that has ever fired a shot in anger was HMS Conquerer at the Belgrano, and that was nearly 25 years ago.
Not sure if that's entirely true. Didn't HMS Splendid fire 15-20 cruise missiles at Iraqi targets in '03?
-
Like Peter said. Just seems like an awfully expensive delivery system for a handful of cruise missiles.
-
Talking of pointless subs, why the hell are we spending a couple of billion on these??

I bet you are.Originally posted by TanksMucho:I'm confident the above lighthearted observations won't be construed as anti-Semitic.

Hahaha, defty put Mr Cairns! Now get back to counting those beans.
