  1. USING THE EDITOR

    1) launch the Editor from main CMBB panel

    2) select Load -- This allows you to select from the MapPack

    3) select Unit Editor -- This allows to purchase your Battle Group and attached units. In this panel you may then select one purchased unit and click on 'Edit' to change parameters such as experience, ammo, name, ...

    4) when done, remember to Save on main Editor panel the map with the purchased units

    5) launch QB as per battle parameters and Load Map (the one saved in the Editor) instead of letting QB generate one

    6) purchase the Task Force Units

    7) fight battle

It will be a bit cumbersome, you have to manually edit every units ammo down to 0, but at least it works. It also works giving extra ammo, so now we can simulate (if we want) REALLY prepared defenses with extra ammo load.

...when the patch is officially released, can we expect to see directions in the next bersion of the BCR manual on how to load troops into the maps and adjust ammo loads, etc?

Will this upgrade also mean we can specify unique names for the unit COs and keep them? THAT would be totally sweet.

{news from kiev} onto Battle 3: sheesh, what a predicament. still in setup mode to figger this one out. Herr j0ker out.{/news} </font>

Maybe something a little more open ended, where the parameters can be set for any year of the war, and any type of nationality/force? Historical maps could correlate to dates that could act as triggers for that particular locale.

Peterk sent me the source for BiltAid. I am looking at it - in the little spare time I have now - . I'd like to update rules and possibly extend it as well.

    Please, do not ask me when though as I have little idea myself :-}

'Invaders' trying to hold their guts in... Hmmm smile.gif

    I didn't say anything

    :D

    LOL

BTW, *those* were truly invaders, looting, sackaging and plundering and humiliating daily the local people in their marches.

    VERY peaceful marching frenchies. ;)

The revolt came at a marriage celebration where a french patrol officer made irruption into the party and started *palpating* the bride with the excuse of performing a routine perquisition.

Biltong, if you were a French occupying SICILY during the "Vespri Siciliani" - the popular uprising against the bloody french invaders happened during Easter celebrations in march 1282 - you would be dead with your guts running out your opened belly.

The way Sicilian fighters were distinguishing the fleeding french soldiers disguised as locals was to ask them to pronounce "Ciceri" - chick peas - . As soon a the poor bastard was pronouncing the word as "Siseri" - the way a french would say "Ciceri" - he was busy holding his guts from falling on the ground.

So, your "Cicily" - although in a reversed way - would still have you clearly identified as "Auslander" and get you busy with keeping your guts from spreading all over the place.

    :D

I am sure you appreciate the story.

AND let me add one thing: watch the movie from view 1, view 2 max, AND follow the action with one of your units, one best representing the action.

THEN, you'll start feeling for your units and be a better CO.

    :D

Playing with big units and Bird-view not only is unrealistic but it makes for considering those little things on the battle field as little ants, nor troops. You could not even hear the screams of pain! (and loose lots of realistic sights and sounds like the bullets provoking burst of dust on the ground or buzzing off metal and the grunts of your men).

Hooo Boy!!! Joker - thanx for reminding me. I forgot about Franko's rules - I've actually played a couple of games with these rules - even a PBEM... Tough!!! Main problem I found was forgrtting to stay at level 1 and not knowing where the hell you are if there's a lot of woods around smile.gif

Definitely a very realistic experience... Next time you feel you've got a too easy task ahead of you - try it - a whole new trip ;) </font>

Looks like you truly don't get it!

The problem is that it is not *just* between Italian speakers and the rest of the world english speakers.

Similar attempts have been done already in the past for other languages. Fact is there are literally tens of different languages in these forums.

Shall we start having in the Forums danish threads, swedish, german, finnish, spanish, portuguese, greeks, arabic dialects, french, schweitz deutch, austrians, brasilians, mexicains, ... and these are only the idioms I have met in few years of CMBO/BB.

Surely others are represented as well.

If allowed for one language it would and should for all of them and THEN we would all get CRAZY wandering through the forum to look for a thread we could understand.

    capisch?

In ogni caso non credo che sia una buonissima idea trasformare il forum in una chat italica. Abbiamo le mail usiamole.

    Ciao.

Si d'accordo. L'uso dell'Italiano può essere simpatico ma esclude tutti gli altri, quindi...

Massim, current version of CMBB has an unfortunate bug with the Editor: units imported into a QB regain the FULL ammo value unrespective of what has been set in the editor itself. We are unsing the Editor a lot in the Biltong Campaign rules and this bug is truly a bummer. Do you know whether it is going to be fixed with the 1.03 patch?

    Ciao

Prophetic, isn't it - now you know why the Brits have been hanging about outside Basra ;)

As you might have noticed: the maps link with each other - you are actualy fighting on one L.o.n.g map - so you can see what's waiting on the horison ;)

    Good luck!! </font>

One suggestion: as these battle packs might involve additional strain to BCR players bonuses for those who decide to fight them - and successfully I must add - would be welcomed as recognition from Berlin for the great contribution to MotherLand war effort.

Thanx & Good Idea - great minds - just wait for the last battle :D </font>

    Hi S smile.gif

How do you find the Kiev battles? Any suggestions/problems with the maps/extra force compositions etc? Carefull not to give the game away - mail me if necessary ;)

Bottom line - is it worth the effort to create special battle packs? </font>

    ...

    :D

All the above is good news. The greatest threat to BCR's survival, is boredom. For a player to go right through to 45, he must never become bored. He must feel tension & fear all the way. Be kept on his toes ;)

    Dr. Rosenrosen

See Note 8 - Player Experience

  16. Fought "Workers' Paradise", night Kiev battle.

What a carnage: knife-battle in a telephone booth style of fighting.

Lost 34 men, 177 casualties, 6 vehicles, my Pz II, my Pz III and managed to get a Tactical Victory thanks to battle ending. 5 more minutes and I was doomed.

Units's plan was to early engage the enemy, causing massive injuries and then retire to major target positions.

Waited too long, could not retire. Fought in place till very end. Lots of new men in my units now, lots of green squads again.

It is going to be a hell of AAR. Still have to scratch dried blood off my uniform and stop shivering. My hands still shake.

Fought against +75% Soviets. caused 800+ casualties and ~300 deads. Ivan men OK 500+!!!!

  17. BCR promoted me to ELITE. Dunno whether I should be glad or pissed.

I will be facing tougher and tougher battles ahead as now the enemy EASILY has +50% (+6 modifier) and I faced already a +75% in Kiev Suburbs battle.

I might face soon the bitter taste of a loss. But the KampfGruppe is stronger every battle now. 4 Units are veterans already.

No doubt I olny had a Tactical victory.

No more AARs in here as EasyCo is kindly featuring them in his site with maps as well.
