  1. Waiting for CMC to come out is not nearly as bad as waiting for the first CMBO demo was, atleast now we have 3 forms of CM to pass time with.

I still play alot of CMBB and have no trouble finding PBEM opponents.

For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

  2. Matt

One voice command that I've heard often in CMAK , that I never heard in a year in a combat zone is "forward march" , I mention this back during the CMBO demo times , in combat the commands are more like "move out" or "follow me" (which I've heard once in CMAK). It just seems real strange every time I hear squad leaders in the CM field saying "forward march".

Just my two cents worth smile.gif

And CM continues to become better and better. Thanks smile.gif

  3. Sc'halt

Thanks for the reply. The computer is brand new, so far I've used it for only one other game Civil War Generals 2 which doesn't demand much.

I've been able to watch a large size pbem battle resolution (movie) all the way thru, 4to6 times.

Completed my orders once, but it locked-up soon after screen changed to PBEM save page and before

save (after rebooting I didn't find file saved under old name). Every other time it locked-up

during my orders. So I started a tiny scenario

few units very small map , locked-up during my first orders phase same as large game.

Right now CM is on last computer's hard drive , I'm going to install on new hard just to clean things up.

Once again thanks for any sugestions smile.gif

  4. I have a new 256k 1.6gig AMD with GeForce3 card and W2000pro operating system. I've downloaded the v27.10 drivers and that fixed vidio problem , but machine still locks-up during orders phase, Ctl+Alt+Del doesn't reboot , I have to turn off power to reboot. Does anyone have any sugestions on what my problem is and how to fix it. Thank you for ant help. smile.gif

  5. Any air-cooled machine gun can fire for extended periods , if the gunner uses proper burst when firing. i've seen an M73 coxial mg, using 20 to 25 round burst fire 5000 rounds in one night of fighting with no barrel exchanges and only two twisted link jams. Any machine gunner worth his salt will maintain his burst rate even in heavy combat, this ensures having his weapon to use.

  6. The building's blowing up graphic is a little to much , but it is better than when they use to just become rubble.

As far as colapsing to easy , i don't think so , being an x-tanker and having blown apart

many buildings and bunkers with a tanks main gun , i feel the number of rounds needed to destruct the buildings in CM is about right. Wooden buildings come down easy with a few hits , stone or brick buildings also with just a few more hits , only heavy reinforced concrete can take a lot of rounds from a tanks main gun and remain standing.

just my 2 cents worth of real life experince.

  7. Scott,

i was refering to many past threads , where post had complained about the fifty being to deadly , at the time ,i hadn't read the "gun and run" thread.

i was in a US Cavalry platoon in combat , that had 10 mounted fifty cals , and it does lots of damage , and can be fired effectively on the move.

i'm just speaking from experience , and the fifty is a very effective weapon, and a good gunner can walk his tracers onto his target even on the move. And back to this thread and its damage, that 1/2 inch round pulls bone out of the exit wounds when it hits bone. There is no weapon on the battle field like the fifty , except for the 12.7mm which is a 51 cal.
