  1. In the US Army during WW2, two or sometimes even three men would share a foxhole.
  2. Sorry, my typing really sucks and never edit what I write.
  3. Thabjs fir the feedback. I thibk I'll give both a try.
  4. I was just wondering if anyone else here played Chain of Command at www.2am.com and what they think of it. Also, I was windering if anyone could a suggest a good WW2 game (preferebly with airborne).
  5. Speaking of Arnhem, I was just wondering if the river crossing at Nijmegan by the 82nd would be included. It would probably sastify those who still want a D-Day beach assault since the side the germans held did have fortifications.
  6. I just got a new computer (early Christmas, though would of preferred that it was Combat Mission) and I've been trying to load Chance Encounter, but when I press ok on the download screen it says there was a problem loading the file when running accesibility wizard. I was wondering if anybody could help me out with this.
  7. I was just wondering if anyone knows why US TD's were open topped.
  8. TOBRUK, I don't know about whether the terrain textures are just because this is a beta demo, but I do know that you can only buy the game from this website.
  9. I forgot what the internet adress was but it was the one with the all those little flames. I think it was called hotpicks. The review with the website was one of the reviews from a consumer. He said if you wanted to play a real World War Two game to come here and download CM.
  10. Thanks bullethead, but I hate war games with hexes. West Front was so boring for me. CM is the only war game I have ever liked.
  11. I just wanted to cast my vote for a PTO CM. I would like it after the Eastern Front. I think assaulting things like that cave system at Iwo Jima would be really cool. However, it would probably be hard for you guys to model Iwo Jima since all Japanese fortications were linked by an underground system. BTS would have to model that.
  12. Thanks. However, I do think a battle like that would be kinda cool.
  13. Thanks. Sorry if you guys have already have gone over some of the questions I ask. I only found out about this game last week when reading a CC4 review.
  14. I don't know if someone has asked this before but in a Airborne operation, do your reinforcements come in by parachute or glider? That would be really cool if they did. If so, then is there a randomness of where they land, if everyone in the unit made it safely, and how much of their equipment they were able to recover?
  15. P.S. I was wondering if there would be any operations in which you use 82nd Airborne units.
  16. I know a little about Operation Varsity. It was basically another of Montergomery's overblown (this is my personal opinion of Montgomery) plans. I believe Varsity was the airborne part of the operation. The assault across the river was called Operation Plunder. The operation consisted of units by both the British 2nd and American 9th armies. The operation occurred on March 24, 1945. However, while this was supposed to be Montgomery's big glory thing as the first to cross the Rhine, two American crossings were made first. On March 7, the Lundendorf(might be spelled wrong) was captured at Remagen by the American First Army. On March 22, Patton sneaked units of his own at night across the Rhine where the established a beachead.
  17. Thanks for all the feedback. Steve, when I said poor, I was only refering to the tank-infantry coordination. The AI in this game is better than I've seen in any other wargame.
  18. I was just wondering if the name After Overlord means that the actual D-Day invasion will not be included in the game. Also, I would like to know if the operations will be fictional or based on real battles.
  19. I forgot to say the Tiger had been hit by two M18 shells at 800m but the both dissipated and four 60mm shells on top but there was no serious damage. Also, the main gun was working because it was killing my other platoon. The Tiger wasn't immobile because it had moved away fom the main infantry assault to shell my other platoon.
  20. The Tiger was in perfect condition. Also, the only building close to the wall the germans were trying to defend was captured by the germans. There was also enough open ground between the wall and where the infantry assault was launched (100m) for the Tiger to fire at the wall without nedding to worry about a bazooka. I just don't understand why a Tiger would fire at a platoon guarding my other flank while one company or so of veteran units were being eliminated by my other platoon. P.S.- the map this happened on was Last Defense
  21. I was just wondering if the poor computer ai during the demo is just a bug and will be improved for the actual game. Example of poor ai in demo: Germans have a Tiger left after all M18s and bazooka teams are destroyed but doesn't use it to support main german infantry assault which as a result is badly chopped up.
  22. I have two questions: 1. I was just wondering why a 700 meter shot from a 60 mm mortar would force a crew of a Stug III to abandon. I don't really understand how that works. 2. Do crews have secondary weapons that they can switch to in case the enemy got too close to them? I know that mortar crews carried carbines in case this happened.
