  4. Kunzler and I finished yesterday. And what a fight it was. He had me outmatched in infantry, but I was able to counter with artillery. In the end both of us had over 350 infantry losses, I won that one by the skin of my teeth where my his crack units were petting my hellcats. Tom
  5. Yikes...currently on turn 21...still undecided, but kunzler holds the objective. So would a cease fire give him credit for the objective? That would be kinda screwy, since my whole idea was based on pounding with arty till the last possible moment and then walk in...well I haven't made it all the way in yet. Please advise.
  6. Me and Kunzler are currently on turn 15. All hell is braking loose as artillery is dropping and infantry is popping up from every corner of the map. Game is still undecided from my point of view. Tom
  7. Me and Kunzler are currently on turn 10. He has taken the VL and I am pounding him with "big stuff" <G>
  8. After some inital difficulties my game with Kunzler is off and running. So far we are at turn 3. One skirmish has taken place between an OP and what looks like a platoon size veteran unit. Everything is silent..
  9. Me and Kunzler are fighting on the "Web" map. On this map vehicles can only drive on bridges to the objective area In addition you can only see 180 meters (fog) and the setup zones are touching eathoter So far only the setup has taken place...no movements have been issued yet.   13. Custom maps for me please In my fight with U8led I am taking screenshots from key turns, I will post a mini AAR on my website. I simply ask that if I should win this game, none of the other active players look at that AAR for Fog of War purposes Fighing in Deep Mud is a very different experience Tom
  14. Here's my opinion... honor system. We're not playing for money, and frankly we are dealing with more mature participants than first person shooter players. We're doing this because we love the game. Looking what units my opponent has would kill the fun playing in the first place. I love the uncertainty. So I vote for...leave as is. Tom

  17. I think some of you are misunderstanding what 3dfx is doing. They are NOT exiting the chip market, they are outsourcing their graphic card manufactoring capability. In other words, they will be just as they were before they bought STB. And I think their next chip (codename Rampage) is not that far off in the future. Tom

  19. Hi guys, Since day one I always had problems with CM and the Voodoo5. My original problem was that when I started the game in non-FSAA mode I would get "weird lag" between screens in the menu section of the game. It looked like the screen not not refresh correctly. This never happened with 2X or 4X FSAA. Now with Direct X 8.0 and the newest W2K drivers for the Voodoo 5 (designed to work with DX 8.0) I have a new set of problems: 1. The original problem still exsists. 2. All tank gun barrels as well as machine guns appear as white (no textures). 3. When plotting movement or using the LOS utility it does NOT indicate red or black color anymore, just green and white. I do not have any other issues with any other games at this time. Thanks, Tom

  22. I have run into several situations now were anti aircraft guns are the perfect tank killers. I have two good examples: A Panther G tank was getting hit by a 40mm AA gun in the front armor area continously. After about 40 seconds the Panther's gun was destroyed, shortly thereafter it was immobilized by it. Different battle with 1.04 patch...my Super Pershing was getting hit in the front by a quad 20mm AA gun. Same thing...after 1 turn it was immobilzed and then shortly after the gun was destroyed. Throughout the whole time I only had sound contacts to the AA gun too Is this realistic? Can 20 mm AA kill the main gun on a super pershing that easily? Thanks, Tom
