  1. Saw something I've never seen in a computer game before. During a Quick Battle, I had placed Lt. Kroh with two squads in open ground and delayed giving them orders for a minute (while under fire by Americans) in order to sort things out. Well, in the next movie-turn Lt. Kroh gets up and runs to the nearest patch of woods (toward the enemy) and a few seconds later both squads get up and follow him!!! Excuse the caps, but this was my thought: LT. KROH IS MOVING FORWARD ON HIS OWN AND URGING HIS MEN ONWARD!!! This was fantastic. What a game! I hated to finally have to surrender Lt. Kroh and his men (sob!) but they were being cut to pieces. Last night, I had a barn blown up with two British squads and a leader in it, with many casualties and a quick end to the game. Even my wife stands behind me watching me play Combat Mission and is fascinated by it!!
  2. Great demo! Really getting into Combat Mission, enjoying it more the longer I play. A couple of things I'd like to see: The big black square (rectangle?) that comes up when you press "Enter" to see a unit's weapons seems too large and kinda jarring. On my screen, about half the black square is not used. Might this info square look better as a dark metallic dogtag (oversized of course but not as large as the current black square) with the weapons info written on it? Also, I surely would like to be able to scan my own "squad leader's" bmp into the game, so not every unit of each leadership category would have the same "face". Seems like this might give a little extra character to the units. Anyway, great game!
  3. Enjoying the demo very much. Looking forward, like everyone else, to the finished game. I, too, would like a "see all units" screen, that would tell me what all units' current orders are, their status, and how many men are able or dead/wounded. Also it would be great if I could click on a unit's number and the screen would automatically take me there. I don't see this as a problem, really. Yes, it is gamey...but Combat Mission *is* a game. And couldn't such a screen be optional? Anyway, having great fun with the demo. Everything looks good!
