  1. Hi there

How do I get about getting the most feel about the hights in CM - without making the whole ting looking awful. I.e where and what mods to get,

I want to be able to "feel" the elevations at a glance, whithout loosing the realistic "touch" - if posible.

Ohh - and anybody for a Pbem - one turn a day - nothing faster due to work, family and so on.

    Kind regards

  3. I have been playing wargames both board and PC games, in 20 years and I have lost about 75% of them!

Well I am not bragging about it - but there it is. If I was in this, to win I would have stopped long ago.

The fun of this hobby, be it ASL/other wargames or PbEM wargaming, is to find people who you like to play a game with (can one say that with out it sounds the wrong way?) that you can thrust mailing their turn and not quiting!

I have played a fair number of games in Talonsofts ACW battle series for some years now with the same guy ( and I wrote him " try CM it's one hell of a wargame - You know what? we stopped playing ACW because he liked this game so much) Any way if he would have instited to play ACW - I would have!

The importent thing here is not winning (thu it IS nice) but if one find a person you can relate to somehow or another it is a victory in itself.

I like this game (CM that is:)) because it makes you "smell the battle field" just like ASL did, to me, back in the early '80'es.

I say "allways remember this is a game - and it just for fun and not real life-luckily

BTW - I am game for just one more PbEM battle! Being a family man with just that much time left for gaming, I can only play tree or four games at at time. Mail me!

  4. Hi there

I had sworn I would not post this kind of email

"I would wait patiencently and enjoy The Game when it arrived - hell I am a grown-up I tried waiting for good things before" so I said a week ago.

But - but I am getting desperate now - one more weekend without the royal danish post comming by with a parcel for me.

Well - is it just me of all the persons in Denmark who have (pre-)ordered the game who is waiting still?

    Kind regards

  5. Hi there

I have been lurking in this forum for some time now ( I have only made a few posts),

but I want to say I enjoy it here.

Just a few words about myself: 41 years old. have been playing wargames for about 20 years, mostly ASL.

I am the proud cofounder of no less that 2 wargaming clubs here in Copenhagen playing mostly board-wargames (read ASL), both of which still exits.

After I got kids, two sons the first some five years ago, I have not been attenting my :) clubs much.

In the last couple of years my wargaming have been on the PC, either against the system or against Email opponents - it have been and is great fun.

BUT there is one thing missing, and now I come the point.

I have been missing a chance to encounter people with the same interest as me, namely war in general and 2nd WW in particulal, people that know that war is nothing to wish for, but knows the difference between a sherman and a panther. People that reads books (!) on their favourite subjeckt, and has the abiilty to present their knowledge on the spot. This, and the eagerness to promote a good game, reminds me of the best times in the clubs.

I have just have had a resent convent (by me) beat me in a PbEm game - but I still want more (victories, please) - so look out - when THE GAME comes out - I am going to play this game by Email for a long time!

  6. Hi all

I just wondered how the shipping will be when the time comes.

Please make it a possibility to order by ordinary mail.

The reason I am asking is that the last time I ordered a game from the US (I live in Denmark)the game was delivered by UPS as an express-package - it was the only possibility offeredby the game-co.

UPS garranties that the package will be delivered within one or to days - barring costums-protocol.

Well - in my case it took almost two weeks!!

And here tree mounths later I am still corresponding with UPS Denmark to get some kind of rebate because of the belated delivery.(Which they say they will on their

    hoempage)

Also UPS-Denmark add a huge extra fee for bringing the game through custoums.

This fee alone adds one third to the final price. The price in Denmark will be high enough due to costums. Our "normal" mail seems to consiter it a normal service to take mail to costums.

Don't get me wrong - I want the game as fast as possible - but I can wait one or two more weeks if I do not have to hassel with the unprofessonel UPS - Denmark

    Kind regards

  7. Hi all

One thing I am looking forward to in CM, is the oppertunety to play my old ASL scenarios in a 3d format, and I know for sure that I will be looking though my scenarios to find some that will be suitable, with regards to weapons, troop types terain etc..

I wondered if thougths have been made by members of this learned forum, as to some "standards". F.ex. How to deal with a squad in ASL (4-6-7) with a heavy MG (7-16).

Should this, in CM, be made into a regular half-squad and MG-crew?

I do realise, off course, that CM is a different game than ASL and that scenaios can, and most proberly will, be very unbalanced if taken over directly.

My point is however that when there are hundreds of, more or less, historical settings allready made, it would be a waste

    to "start from scrath".

  8. On my little LAN at home, some fellows and myself have enjoyed SM's Gettysburg as teams very much, for two players I think it more fun than playing against each other -actualy. So - I would like to see an option for teamplay.
