Rmarsden
I save games, but do not see them on the Mission/Operations menu in game, or in the various folders I think they might be hiding in. Anyone have any ideas? Pics and explanation below. Windows 7 Game is located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Strategy First\Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin The only file folders available are BMP, Open Play Modules, Scenarios, Wav Screen Shot http://imgur.com/eJ6Mx2B,axZzrr6,JMZmy8A#1 The virtual store is here C:\Users\R Marsden\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Strategy First\Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin Screen Shot http://imgur.com/eJ6Mx2B,axZzrr6,JMZmy8A#2 I think I can see hidden files and folders Screen Shot http://imgur.com/eJ6Mx2B,axZzrr6,JMZmy8A#0 I tried running the game as an administrator, saving, and restarting the game. No saved files displayed. I'm not sure if the game saves, or where the files might go.
Schrullenhaft
If you launch the game without Administrator privileges, then the files should be saved into a 'Saved Games' subdirectory within the 'Virtual Store' path. If you launch the game with Administrative privileges then that 'Saved Games' subdirectory should be within the game's actual 'Program Files (x86)' path. Saved game should appear within the scenario/operations lists with a slightly different text color ('orange' ?). It would appear (assuming the 'R Madsen' is the correct account) that the files are NOT being actually saved. You may want to make sure that your security software has exceptions set for the game executable, though the most common issue with security software is that the game will not run at all. Have you remapped your 'user account' directory to another drive (boot on SSD and have 'account' on HDD) ? I'm not sure what sort of issues that would cause with the CMx1 series (usually none to my knowledge). Interestingly the 'Prefs' file has been written out in both the 'Program Files (x86)' and 'Virtual Store' paths, so the game is finding the appropriate directory with and without Administrative privileges. You may want to attempt to run the game with your security software temporarily disabled to see if that is having any sort of affect. If it is, then typically adding an 'exception' for the game executable should allow it to operate without interference. Most security programs will usually interfere with a program at launch time rather than when it is attempting to write a file.
Rmarsden
I can try that. Malwarebytes can go quiet for a bit.
