  1. Interesting. I find everything to look the same as it was, very clear, perfect in fact. The only difference being a huge increase in performance.
  2. Thanks Guys, Just tried the 1.04 patch along with the new 163.71 WHQL driver and got +/- 50 fps on Alahs Fist with everything on BEST!!! Yahooo!! [ October 02, 2007, 05:21 AM: Message edited by: Trooper5 ]
  3. Just tried the WHQL version and good news! Alahs fist fps has jumped from about 9 to 20 on my machine. Much better performance than the beta version. Give it a try guys.
  4. Actually who cares about frames. This game is F##@!!ing joke. Most of the time the vehicles and troops dont go where there are supposed to. Some times they go all around (even if the destination point is straight ahead an inch) and get shot up the ass. This is very frustrating and I've decided to shelve this thing until they get it right!! I was warned by the guys on a another forum not to get it. They won't buy because of the "theatre of war" fiasco. CMSF seems to be turning out the same!! Having said that, this will be an excellent game once the bugs are worked out. 5. Battlefront should stop blaming nvidia for there problems. Drivers have nothing to do with it. As mentioned in another thread the problem seems to lie in the programming for the simple dirt map. The larger it is the worse it gets, and thats for any 3d card.
  6. No increase in performance. When set at BEST/BEST it's worse. But when the game is set at balanced fps is great and it looks ok. Details are there, grass blowing in the wind etc. Maybe these big maps are just very demanding. I have no problems with any other games on my 8800GTX. Including Falcon 4, GRAW2 and Steel Beasts Pro PE which are all way more complicated than CMSF. Battlefront, why don't you just ask Nvidia for help!
  7. I can see the shadows from the slat armour on the strykers hull, the treads in the tires and everything else. Plus I get at least 30 fps. That is the BEST it gets, and the way it was intented. MY 8800 GTX IS DOING THIS!!! THIS IS NOT SOFTWARE RENDERING!! The reason is because I've set up the 8800 to overide the game graphic settings. When you put it to BEST and get crappy frames it's because you've given control back to the game. Only the balanced setting disables game control. 8. Thanks for that Cpl Steiner. I've tried your suggestion and made my modifications in the nvidia control panel with in game at BALANCED all round. New settings are AA 16xQ, AF 16x with AA overide and vsyn on (off in game). The results are amazing even better than before (Hotti dose'nt get it, but the video card does work, my CPU is'nt that good). I can see the shadows from the slat armour on the hull of the stryker!!! Plus, I get at least 30 fps. This may not be the solution but I'm happy and it's better than anything Battlefront has come up with so far. I hope any of this will help them. 9. I don't care anymore Hotti, do what ever you want. Now, I'm going back to my game of CMSF which happens to perform brilliantly.
  10. You don't get it! What my setup does is give control to my video card and it works. Obviously not for you. Battlefront should try to find out why this works. PS Keep you're piss ass attitude to your self.
  11. I've run the game with settings at BEST and it looked the same as with this workaround.
  12. My workaround is just that! It works for some, and I'm happy that the game works great for me. I've shared my findings with you cause I'm a nice guy, but Battlefront still has to solve the problem. I still think there programming is at fault not the driver. Bye the way Hotti, if my workaround worked for you, you would'nt be complaining anymore. PS. People with way smaller computers than you and I have are getting excellent results from this setup. 13. I have the 8800 GTX and NForce 680i motherboard. I have posted a workaround that works because it disables CMSF control over the graphics. That is, setting all the graphics to BALANCED seems to switch off software rendering and allow the card to control, which is set to overide application preference. So the result is graphics that look like the BEST setting (even though it's set at balanced)but FPS at least 30 which is what you'd expect from this card. I have just tried running the game with the driver the card came with namely 65.1. Set everything at max and got grappy results. I'm not an expert like you guys, but I think there is a clitch in the CMSF program that does not allow hardware rendering and it's related to the BALANCED setting. It has nothing to do with the driver. I running the current BETA driver and getting better results than with 162.18. (the intro graphic shows up now!!)
  14. I have ben running Alahs Fist and have found a great performance boost. My system is as follows: nForce 680i Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 3.30GHz 2GB Corsair RAM @ 800MHz Geforce 8800 GTX 768MB Win XP Set game model and texture to BALANCED Turn VSync and AA to OFF Set Video card to AA 2XQ, and Anisotropic to 16X The game now runs with model and textures set at BEST and the FPS is 25 to 120!!! Try it out. PS: If you set the game model and textures to anything other than balanced the frame rate drops to nothing and visually it looks like it set to fast or something. I think the game trys to overide the Video card but can't. So let the card control everything. This set up gives me no less than 60+ fps!!! in the Al Huqf Engagement scenario.
