With much shame, I reveal my ignorance before all. I downloaded the new patch, opened it all up using Windows Explorer, but have not succeeded in applying the patch. None of the little files reads 'exe.', so I can't follow the instructions to overwrite. Will some comrade pass on the wisdom - as if you're instructing a novice? I promise to throw myself on a grenade for you, or some such thing! Thanks.

Hello Folks, Well, I downloaded the patch and moved it into my BMP file via Windows Explorer. The game still runs in its older version. What would I need to do to get the patch to work? Grateful for any input!

Folks, Whenever I trie and open the scenario "Counterattack" I get kicked back out to the desktop. Any ideas as to what might be happening? Thanks.

Hello, Well, I know I've asked before but it's still driving me nuts. I succeeded in moving the new sound download into the wav file, and it works! However, I can't get the new graphic download to work. It's already in the new BMP file, as is the 1.01 update folder - but I don't know how to activate either. So, still no version 1.01, no new explosions or detailed grass. If anyone could help, I'd be very grateful. Ernie

Hello, I downloaded patch 1.01, but I've still got version 1.00 playing. Is there a particular way or file in which to upzip it? Also, I donwloaded the new soundpack and graphic pack - but it looks and sounds the same (not that that's really bad). Same question as above. And where does one access the detailed grass and smoke options noted in the 'read me' file - I can't find a prompt on the screen for these. I'm very grateful for any tips, computer illiterate as I am at my age. Ernie

Wittman, I didn't notice what you said about a rifle squad - too busy getting chewed up the moment my reinforcements arrived on the scene. I've even (gasp!) totally removed fog of war on that scenario to try and understand what's happening. Ernie

A good source of info on the 12th and 1st SS can be found in "Steel Inferno-1st SS Panzerkorps in Normandy". By Michael Reynolds and in paperback through Dell publisher's WWII Library. I just recently picked it up at a Walden's bookstore, so it's not hard to find. Hope that's of assistance. Ernie

Greetings, I downloaded the files containing the 'original' German flag plus improved symbols. I unzipped the two files but the improvements do not appear on my game screen. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a particular file I'd need to unzip into? Thanks.! Ernie P.S. - I keep getting my butt handed to me as the Germans in Villers Bocage. Once my reinforcements show up, the Brits shoot them to pieces. Anyone ther with similar experience?
