Is having bad luck better than having no luck at all?

I was reminded of a tune by bluesman Albert King Born under a Bad Sign when someone emailed me the link to this obituary.

This fellow must surely deserve an honourable mention in the Guinness World Records for having bad luck.

With the quality of luck at his disposal, even offing himself would have been problematic.
