Force_Majeure
Hello Shockforce community, I am a History student at the university level and am interested in learning more about the makeup and structure of the German Wehrmacht during World War II. I am primarily interested in the sociological makeup of the Wehrmact (social class of common soldier, makeup of officer corps, the specific geographic makeup of the common soldier, i.e. Hesse, Saxony, Austria, etc., and soldier culture) and the command structure of such. If anyone has a book that discusses such topics, please let me know. Many thanks, Force
JonS
The German Army, 1933-1945: Its political and military failure , Matthew Cooper, is a good place to start. Pre-loved copies start from about $7 on Amazon. A good follow up would be a few of Citino's books, The German Way of War, or Death of the Wehrmacht especially.

MeatEtr
You should drop this thread in the CMBB forum and try a search there too. Although the responses may be slow-going since not many go there anymore.
