Jonny(FGM)
In this video (taken from 3:10 to yuma scen, great scenario btw) you see an AI controlled technical get KO'd by a red minefield. The AI must have been able to see this minefield but still drove the technical straight through it. I'm not complaining about this behaviour, especially as this minefield is supposed to be very old so neither side would know where it is. Just something for scenario designers to keep in mind when making AI plans
birdstrike
Thanks for pointing this out. I admit, I didn't take this into consideration - that or the driver prefers taking his chances with some mines instead of some incoming .50 bullets.
Paper Tiger
Yup, I saw this happening back in the days when I was designing 'Hasrabit' so I am already aware of this issue and that's one of the reasons why I use them so rarely. I don't like the way the AI will run its units into an active artillery barrage either.
Jonny(FGM)
I personally quite like the AI behaviour when it comes to running over its own mines. I'm guessing in syria there are a lot of old minefields that unless you were in syrian military you wouldn't neccisarily know about, at least not know the exact location of the mines. However the AI sending troops into an arty barrage does just seem silly, mind you if they tweaked it so the AI had more autonomy i'm sure BF would get tons of complaints from scenario designers along the lines of "the AI won't follow my plans!!!! OMFG WTF?!?!?!?!" or some stuff
