bstarr Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Not that I'm joining the ranks of those complaining about no red forces in the upcoming module (although I do wish they had thrown in a BTR-80 or something) but since they already have onboard British mortars, why not add an onboard 82mm mortar team to the red side? Offboard 82s work well for 99% of the scenarios, but an onboard mortar could add a little spice to the occasional mod scenario. Field Marshal Blücher Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 The onboard Brit mortar is a 51mm, which is used more like an indirect grenade-chucker than a proper mortar. It needs a rough line-of-sight, you can't call in fire missions with it, etc. Think Japanese "Knee" mortars in WWII (which, yes, I know, were not actually fired from the knee! ).
