sixthfleet
I am a bit fuzzy on one of the rules and was hoping for some input on how others perceive it. When I launch strikes from my carriers it appears that next turn they need to be resupplyed in a base otherwise there are no carrier strikes available? After returning my carriers back to a base it appears that the size of the base matters as some bases will not resupply them? (Midway for example does not seem to allow them to strike again, they have to go back to Pearl) I think sometimes that if it is ground troops they are attacking they do not seem to have to resupply, they seem to be able to remain at sea and still attack on successive turns? This is a tough rule to try and experiment on; I launched a strike with Enterprise in a naval battle near Tinian, next turn I noticed it could not strike the Shokaku again so I went back to Midway. After sitting a turn in Midway I moved the carrier back to Tinian to be near some Jap naval units to strike them but found out that I could not. Yikes. This carrier could only reinforce to 8 for aircraft and 8 for carrier at Midway so does supply affect it instead? Thanks for all your help in advance. I really enjoy this title. U8led
I believe Carriers can launch strikes all the way down to zero supply. The problem you most likely are having with launching is related to the weather. No carrier strikes in storms or rough seas. Keeping them on the coast or in ports tends to help. Any friendly port @ minimum of strenth 10% will fully resuply you. Ports more than 50% will allow you to fully reinforce. Also if you are close to a friendly port you will get resupplied. 1 tile away = supply 9 2 tiles away = supply 8 ...ect hope that helps
sixthfleet
I didn't even think about the rough seas, there are no storm hexes but I think rough seas don't show unless you click on the hex, good catch! And if I understand correctly as long as I am back close enough to supply that should be all that is needed, then I can move out again, say 15 hexes out of Midway and strike again, but must move close to a supply source the next turn, etc. Thanks for the info
