Demo will not boot in Vista

Recommended Posts

Figured this should be it's own topic rather than hijacking the CPU thread.....

I'm running Vista with the Security settings diabled. I have a 2.8 ghz processer, 2 gig ram and an ATI 1900 XTX. The demo will not even start for me. I click the program icon and the spinner starts up then goes away and nothing happens. I've tried rebooting but still no luck.

Anyone have any ideas as to why it won't even start?

Thanks,

Robert

I have all of the latest drivers so I don't think that is the issue.

So you are saying I need to turn the security stuff back on? If that's the case I'm going to be really annoyed with freaking Vista. I HATE having the security settings on.

Ugh, I know why this is happening. Damn...Okay looks like I need to send a *fixed* demo out to the mirrors. For some reason the demo that went out has its "video" preferences already set and they shouldn't have been. This was my fault, I will get it fixed ASAP!.

The simple fix is to just run the Configuration Utility and set your resolution and settings to how you want.

Sorry about that, I should have noticed that!
