Cincinatvs
Hi Is there arc of fire's order available ? Can we order a unit to ambush ?(Wait and fire only at close range) Can an order to switch the motors on/off be given ? Can tanks bog down? Can tanks be repaired after light damage? (On battle field, between two missions) Can infantry unit be loaded in Halftrack and on tanks? Are smoke grenade/shell available ? Thanks for the reply (This game will be in any case a master standard for wargames)
Moon
>Is there arc of fire's order available ? Not directly. But all units have their own inherent arcs based on real-world data (for example in the case of anti-tank guns who far you can adjust your gun barrel laterally without having to replace the entire gun) and by issuing a "rotate" command you can direct that units "attention" to a specific spot or direction. >Can we order a unit to ambush ?(Wait and fire only at close range) You can issue the order to hold fire, yes, which the unit will usually do until the enemy is basically on top of him. >Can an order to switch the motors on/off be given ? No. >Can tanks bog down? Yes. >Can tanks be repaired after light damage? (On battle field, between two missions) No. >Can infantry unit be loaded in Halftrack and on tanks? Into halftracks (or trucks) yes, but infantry cannot be ordered to ride on a tank. >Are smoke grenade/shell available ? No. Martin
Cincinatvs
Thanks Martin No repair on light damage means we definitely lost the wehicule for the campaign ? Are wounded recovering for next duty during the campaign or are they also lost? No smoke = hard tuff during fight!
Moon
No repair during the mission, but in between campaign missions the vehicles are restored usually. Same with wounded. According to our own research (and why there are no smoke grenades in CM for example), smoke grenades have been mainly used for signal purposes and not really to mask movement. Smoke shells from artillery are an omission, but not as much as one would think. The maps and mission design work well without it. Martin
