Cpl Steiner
In CMx1, buildings take damage but it is pretty superficial. Even a totally ruined building only affects it's own footprint and not the surrounding streets. Looking at the aftermath of Israeli strikes in Lebanon it is very apparent that the damage model in CMx1 is far too lenient. A collapsed building spills rubble and debris in all directions for hundreds of yards, hampering vehicle movement and providing lots of cover for infantry units. I hope that in CMx2, we see much more in the way of war damage. I would like to see lots of rubble around the building, not just where it once stood, not to mention burst water mains, downed power cables etc. In my opinion this alone would make CMx2 a big improvement on CMx1, and it would satisfy all those CM players who like to area fire at every structure on the map!
Gryphon
I think they were planning to include deformable terrain, but i'm not sure if it made it in or how far they took it eventually. I am hoping to see it still. I wonder if they include deformable terrain for 'open ground' (3d craters) and the likes as well, although it may be impossible from a LOS\LOF point of view.
