Escort Missions

Hi!

This sort of missions are very nice to fly, but there is a problem.

Its nice to play when you have 2 to 4 skills, cause the attackers are not to powerfull.

But its impossible to play with good pilots.

Enemy wingmen draw so many cards, that in the first 3 turns all bombers will be shot down, when Escort fighters are fighting the other two fighters.

Few things maybe could help to balance this better.

1) New skill for leader and wingmen: Expert Escort (+1 perfomance & +1 burst for leader, +1 attack card for wingmen, BUT only in Escort Missions) Basic Cost 70XP for leader and 50XP for Wingmen

2) Value of Escorting Fighter should be very similar to the two attacking wings. (So if you have Value 40 than both enemy wings should have TOGETHER between 30 to 50 Value.)

This is an AI only issue. When playing against humans, the attackers are subject to an important points restriction.

Each attacker seem to be limited to 2/3 max points of the defender or something.

I only played a few of these, but I saw things as 2 109Bs against a spit V or 2 hurri Is against a 109F.

Of course the über bots exageration factor offsets this restriction smile.gif . I reckon the AI picks a plane with 50 to 100% more XP than yours, so the limitation will roughly end up with both attackers being around the same level as yours.

yes that's true - all the face-face escort games I've been in have limited the intercepting human players - quite surprised me when I figured it out.

2/3rds the experience makes it usually a bit too easy at low levels though - they get nothing vs reasonable escorts, so maybe weight it a bit higher for low level games - maybe 75%
