Tangier a port in sc II ?

Recommended Posts

I hope so too. We can edit resourses to have different production values, even zero, so zero-value ports would allow for additional ports without unnecessarily increasing the production value of certain countries. Like Morocco/Algeria/Tunisia; this region is not worth a city and three ports if SC1 values are used.

Another thing about ports is whether or not they could provide supply to land units, so that a port like Casablanca or Tangier without a city could support an invasion without a HQ. A HQ with a port would be powerful, and having lots of historical zero-value ports that are difficult to defend may create playbalance issues. There should be a decent balance achievable, with a few more ports added here and there without upsetting the rest of the game.

With zero-value ports the North African Campaign would make much more sense -- you could add Casablanca, Algiers, Tunis, Tripoli, Benghazi and Torbruk.

That would set three key ports in the French area and three in the Italian area and, together with greater southern area in Libya and Egypt (going to the Qattara Depression south of El Alemain), supply and reinforcement facities would be more sensible and it would probably lead to a good Campaign in North Africa.

Similar ports (one each) on the Balaeric Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Crete and Cyprus would allow for a more realistic Mediteranean situation. The good part is that some would have greater than zero values but would be less than major economic centers.
