jonp
All, If I have a HQ unit without any bonuses, is there any reason for him to be in command of my units (aside from the command delay)? ie If I have a HQ unit that has no bonuses, will my men in command of him benefit in combat (or does there have to be a +1 or +2)? Thx jonp
Kingfish
Yes, they will benefit. A vanilla HQ has all of the characteristics needed to lead men in battle: command, combat, morale and stealth. The bonuses are just that, an increase in what’s already there.
Sarge Saunders
jonp, see this thread: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=002805 I normally take plain vanilla platoon HQs and assign their squads to company HQs. Use the company HQ and added squads to help at the point of attack. The plain platoon HQ can then command support weapons that might normally be behind the fighting like MGs or mortars. Or you can assign him to that otherwise solo AT team. Also, even plain HQs scout very well since spotting and identification are better than squads. -Sarge
