Rostik Posted December 13, 2002 Share Posted December 13, 2002 Yesterday I've played Marxdorf scenario were you have only one King Tiger against dozen of T-34 tanks. My Tiger killed 8 enemy tanks with it's AP rounds. When he has used all of them , he started to shoot HE rounds. I was surprised, my tank scored three T-34. They all had front armour or turret penetration. Distance was 800-850 meters. Is it possible to have such results in the real life? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
offtaskagain Posted December 13, 2002 Share Posted December 13, 2002 Look at the armor penetration for the guns HE ammo. It certainly is possible, but probably not a frequent occurance in real life. Edit: The 88mm Flak has even better HE penetration than the King Tiger. They can penetrate the T-34 upper hull front at over 1000m with HE.
