Panzergnoll
The small mortar speed is very slow, too slow for reality, then i done my military service i could shoot faster than the mortars i CM/minute does. Shouldn´t be different speed for trained or less trained Mortarsoldiers? Another question: are there any one who had succed to blown away a bit of a Boscage any time, it seems very hard to do that to get a hole?
Ugbash
I don't think you can shoot holes in hedge/bocage, not in a way that you blow up houses anyway.
Galatine
Fire rates are game abstractions, both graphically and within the game system that caculates combat effects. This is the way I believe it to work: Take infantry for example. Realistically in combat I expect at close range they'd be firing virtually non-stop. But in the game graphics it shows as 5-7? bursts per minute. Those fire times are when the program goes: "Ok, how much firepower would this squad output in this (10 or so second) segment of time?" (taking into account numerous varibles: Squad supression, range, experience level, weather, cover etc.) The graphic depictions we see in movies look as if the game is played out as a "real time" simulation but combat effects themselfs are not actually calculated in real time. That's the way I think the system works but I may be way off base...

( very well , but should´nt the soldiers in close combat have a higher fire rate then?)
