BadgerDog
A question in regards to anti-tank minefields..... An anti-tank minefield is placed covering a narrow road and it's edges easily extend beyond both sides of the road. A tracked heavy vehicle (assault gun) comes down the road at high speed (appeared to be FAST move). It drives right over the minefield center flag and keeps going with no damage. Does this imply that minefields have some kind of software variable built into the code that causes vehicles to sometimes not hit one, or is there something else involved here that I've never seen before in CMBO, CMBB or CMAK? Thanks for the feedback. Regards, Badger
Jussi Köhler
The minefields are not 100% certain to demobilize or destroy a vehicle. If I remember correctly someone did some testing over this and found out that the certainty was around 50 or 60%...
Slappy
Exactly right. The road has some mines scattered on it, not one every three inches for 20m. It is possible (50%) for any individual vehicle to pass w/o triggering one. Double covering the road will bring the chance of failure down to 25%.
