Can tank lose visibility to target during shooting?

Recommended Posts

I had weird thing in my CMBB PBEM game:

* My tank did start shooting moving enemy tank (without turret).

* Enemy tank did stop moving and changes rotation to my tank. During changing the rotation, my own tank did stop shooting because it lost visibility to enemy tank.

* Enemy tank started shooting my tank. My tank "saw" that enemy tank again and started shoot back.

* Enemy tank killed my tank.

It was mid day, overcast (no fog), enemy tank probably 300m far away.

Fog of war is extreme, but is this really possible?

Definitely possible, with a few likely explanations:

-was your AFV buttoned up? If so, that could contribute to losing sight of target.

-anything that could provide cover to target? I mean, was he moving through scattered trees, or were there buildings or foliage between you and target?

-how about smoke obscuring your vision?

-size of target could also lead to losing sight.

Bottom line is when using extreme FOW, losing visibility of the enemy is not uncommon.

No, my tank was not buttoned.

Just one little tree, maybe little hill too, but hill didn't cover it so well, because my tank was on little higher ground.

No smoke.

-size of target could also lead to losing sight.

Enemy tank was stug IIIF.

I see it now. Thanks for the answer, I guess I must start play with full FOW.
