Monwar
Targetting off map arty before I see the target and then moving into position, will it help the target time? For example an Italian 104 mm FO doesn't have LOS to a location and will take 7 mins to call fire. But by the next two turns it will surely move into LOS. Will that reduce time?
Romulus
Yeah it reduces targeting time. Anyway some problems can arise if your spotter does not have LOS on the target when the arty starts firing at the end of the 7 minutes. In this case the arty starts firing on a random point on the map (even on your units!). So make sure your spotter acquires the target before the arty starts firing. JasonC
I also note that 7 minutes is a typical Italian arty response time - green 104mm FOs get that long a delay when they *have* LOS...
