Barleyman Posted May 12, 2003 Share Posted May 12, 2003 It's not very neat to have almost 6000 separate files in the bmp folder. Not to mention it must be very very slow to access them, which probably explains loooong map loading phase. Since CMBB already uses WinRAR, it should be very easy to compress the bitmaps and wavs with zero/low compression so you'd have them in one big file. Which would still be accessible for modders and you could just check if the files exist in the bmp dir during loading. That way you'd see exaclty what mods have been installed too.
