Simple but excellent feature - freedom

After having recently re-played all the classic WWII grand strategy games I'd have to say that the way SC isn't broken down into turns ('re-inforcement phase,' 'air-strike phase,' 'land movement phase,' ...) really adds a lot to the game.

I know, it's a little thing, but being able to jump between fronts at my whim (especially when one area isn't doing so well, heh heh) makes the game so much more fun. Forced compliance to a series of phases on the other hand can make a game play like a flowchart or something.

Anyway, good design call. A first for this genre if I'm not mistake.
