I personally would start investing in research after France is captured. Before you should invest every "Reichsmark" in air fleets. With 4 or 5 air fleets you can destroy at least one or two ir fleets of England. And that is the first stept to get France. I directed two carriers to the Lowlands/Baltic sea. I know that the losses in the Mediteranian Sea are higher with 5 ships and one carrier but I thought I can destroy the Italian fleet without completly lossing one ship. The Italian fleet normally comes close enough to the air fleet in Malta. If you engage the Italian fleet Italy does not have enough MPPs left for buying land units or it will loose the entire fleet.
