Fairbairn-Sykes Posted July 16, 2001 Share Posted July 16, 2001 i've asked several modders if they'd consider converting BTS' church into a mosque and have met with little response. i understand that the 3D 'skeletal shape' that the BMP 'skins' are draped over is hard-coded, but after seeing some of the conversions (palm trees, rocks, wadii, pale-packs) in DFDR, i still believe the stock European church can, at the very least, be made to look more Middle Eastern in nature. right now it appears a little too foreign sitting in the middle of Benghazi's market district. perhaps some texture changes (earthier, sand-swept walls) and some different windows/doors would start things off. i know one of the true "mod-ninjas" could pull off a minaret from that bell tower... i'd just like to throw in another building type in my DFDR adventures. Is anybody else interested? As well, does anybody know if there are currently 2 desert shorts mods for the Tommies? it seems like i've seen variations on the British tropical wear. Thanks in Advance. I had seen the mosque mod discussed on the DFDR bulletin board but i did not know if there was a resolution. I have numerous British uniforms, i was just curious about the different shorts i've seen in screen shots. As well, someone had asked about an Australian (victory) flag mod for North African battles involving the Aussies - was that ever made available? Furthermore, I've seen a Commonwealth Sexton mod with South African tactical markings and i'm interested in further Commonwealth mods for the ANZAC/ South African forces in the Med. theatre. I am having a lot of trouble with school/college right now. I have only 3 months of school/college to go. This semesters classes are stressing me to the max. The shading on the walls becomes all screwed up, when I sandblast it. So here is what I propose, can you send me some PICS or Mods that you have added some sandblasting to. Or I probably have a mod that has some sandblasting done to it already from you. I really need a building mod, to look off of as an example. Can you point me in the right direction? Or I will just go through your packs this weekend and find what I need. Last possibility is when I have the Mosque complete to where I am happy with it, could I just send it to you to be sandblasted? I do not have all the walls ready yet. So pic would look very crapy. I should have a peview pic ready by next weekend maybe. This week at school/college is midterms, and Calculus is kicking my ass. I have always thought of myself as a very good math student, but calculus makes no damn sense to me. Calculus is like this: basicaly one big formula, then lets change it into another long big ass formula. I do not see the relevence of calculus in the real world. Please be patient, I have done lots of mods, but not any buildings to date, so it is a learning experience. I don't won't to put out something that is crap, so I am reading all sources of mod info, and talking to modders for tips. I just want to be happy with the Mosque before I put it out.
