Farnz Posted July 12, 2001 Share Posted July 12, 2001 Having not played ASL for about 5 years (cat pissed in the counter box, made my panthers curl)I did i search some 6 months back on ASL and ended up via demo, game, lurk, here. Spent a while "doing a search" and started reading military history again. Found a second hand book the other day on Allied armour that talks of Whiz-bangs and Calliopes, Sherman variants mounting between 20 7.2 inch and 60 4.6 inch rockets respectivly. The book gives a half dozen other Sherman rocket varieties but only these two are cited as having seen use. These rockets are mounted in racks of tubes above the turret and in some cases could be jettisoned after use. Despite Super Perscing and sturmtiger rants I'm not warranting inclusion I just wondered if anyone knows what was the intended range and main purpose of these weapons? And can we have CDL units??
