AlvinS
Greetings I just recently purchased TacOps after playing the Demo for two weeks. I have been lurking here for about a month and decided to jump in. This is what I have been looking for in a computer wargame that covers modern warfare. To sum it up in one word... Awsome . The game is tense and keeps you on your toes. I am very impressed with the game overall and really enjoy the amount of information available on the equipment that is used. The unit information itself is more than worth the price of the software. I enjoy both board and computer wargames, and spend alot of time in the WWII and Civil War era. Some of my favorites are Steel Panthers, and Uncommon Valor for the computer. For board games I spend most of my time with the Great Campaigns of the American Civil War. I look forward to learning more about this game, and playing PBEM and possibly CPX I am a regular at the Matrix site, and found Battlefront.com from a link provided by Les The Sarge 9-1. Glad he pointed me this way. AlvinS

AlvinS
Yes I Joined the mailing list about a week ago. I am very interested in learning CPX, but I will not be available today. I understand that it is possible to watch a CPX in progress to learn how it is done. Do you just monitor the IRC channel or is there more to it than that? I am really enjoying playing TacOps, and look forward to being part of this gaming community. AlvinS
MajorH TacOps Developer
The CPX mode allows players to join a net game as spectators. Spectators see the battle on their screen with no fog of war.
Steve C
Welcome, Alvin. I am also new to the game and I think it's great. I have also played some Steel Panthers Main Battle Tank. It's also very comprehensive for the modern era, but I find that TacOps has a quicker flow and pace to it. Still, the animations and sound effects on SPMBT are terrific and that comprehensive encyclopedia is just great - the games render a different enough take on the same subject matter that both can be enjoyed on their own merits.
