Mark IV
The problem with Voodoo 3 3000 seeing "blocky" translucent smoke is finally fixed! Upgrading to DirectX 7a did not help with the translucent smoke, BUT upgrading to the 1/27-dated driver did. The free, 6.8 Mb download for Win 98 is available at http://www.3dfxgamers.com/drivers/voodoo3/voodoo3_win9x_new.stm and the smoke looks great. Guest Ol' Blood & Guts
Uh, hello! Again most of graphics problems have been solved by upgrading to the latest drivers.
der Bob
I downloaded the latest "beta" driver for Voodoo3 2000 Win98, and it also resolved the blocky smoke problem for me. I was going to back up to the last (Jan. 2000) WHQL-certified driver if the beta bombed, but it seems to work perfectly--at least with CM, which is of course the only game I will be playing for a while anyway! Thanks to all for the tip. der Bob ------------------ "We ain't got no booze"
