StellarRat
Anyone think that we would have beat the Iraqis using their own equipment against them? I do. Unless there is a huge disparity in the quality of the equipment it seems to me that the quality of the troops is the deciding factor. I'll take two platoons of veterans against three regulars anytime in CM. Any thoughts on this one?
I/O Error
Standard military belief is that better-trained and indoctrinated troops are much better than a greater number of "regular" troops. Thus the United States has concentrated from '85-onwards on a small elite core for a military, all superbly equipped, trained, and indoctrinated. For CM? Trust me, veterans can wipe the pants off the regular guys. It matters most in the more-specialized fields. Artillery, spotters, vehicles, etc. Note: Crack sharpshooters can shot the flea off a Tank Commander's shoulder at 800 meters. (Although they seriously can turn the tide in a good QB with mainly infantry or open vehicles.) Veterans = Worth 33% extra in terms of skill.
