SGT Casey
I've been thinking about trying to create scenarios and I'd like to know what is the best way to create a map. I've read the map making .pdf file and it says to use a program such as Paint to draw the map and then the map making tool to create the .dat file. Does anyone have any tips on the best way to draw the map by hand (using Paint)? Dave
MajorH TacOps Developer
Tip number one: start with a small map for a small scenario.
SGT Casey
Yeah, I sat down and threw something together real quick and have a good idea how it works. However, I'm wondering how you set up a scenario to be played human vs. computer. When I tried to run my little scenario with like four units, it said I couldn't play it solitaire (or something like that... it was early). Still playing around with it. MajorH TacOps Developer
That alert is just telling you that you loaded a custom scenario template while in solitaire mode. Custom scenario templates can only be used in human vs human games. When you dismiss the alert the program will automatically reset itself to two player mode and march on.
SGT Casey
So, is there any way to create custom scenarios to be played by one person? Dave
MajorH TacOps Developer
Not with an active AI computer opponent.
Panzertruppen maddox
If anyone comes up with any really good TacOps maps, Warfare HQ will host them. Also, if you haven't already heard the Warfare HQ TacOps ladder is rolling. It it listed as the "Military Simulations" ladder. Good place to find opponents.
