Zamo
I just popped over to the CMHQ website for the first time in a few weeks and took a gander at some of the images from the latest builds. It just astounds me how much these stills look, and more importantly "feel" like actual photos of the Second World War. The "Tired Lt." shot looks so much like the real thing it's almost spooky. Burning wreckage, smoke in the distance (THAT seems to be the key ingrediant, almost every photo I've ever seen has smoke in the distance). This is going to be good! I think I'm going to download a shot and change it to black and white to see just how similar it looks then... Man! I just can't wait! Guest Madmatt
I have long been a proponet of the more 'realistic' approach to screenshots. You won't find many pictures of mine with game devices (bases, compass, interface, control lines etc..) as I think the games really shines when you just show the actual scene. I have taken many pictures and conmverted them to black and white and results are very convincing. A long time ago I had an idea to randomly select a picture from one of my many WWII books and then try to replicate the same scene using CM. Alas the time commitment to do this proved to be too much after only a few samples but the results were uncanny. Some of the POTD's I have done were based on Real Life pictures! Some day I may re-address this as a feature as it was very cool. Madmatt ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! And if it's NOT on CMHQ then its just GOT to be on CMHQ-ANNEX... CMHQ http://combathq.thegamers.net CMHQ-Annex http://cmhq.tzo.com
