killmore
There are 2 T-34 for sale. Can you tell me if these are T-34/85? Are these post war or WWII? Both seem to have running engines. Spook
They're the 85mm type (1943+). The gun length and turret shape/volume are dead giveaways. The T-34/85 first went into action in the spring of 1944, so these are quite possibly WW2 "vets", but it's just as possible that T-34/85 production continued after war's end or was picked up in other countries that would later become part of the Warsaw Pact. (Anyone else please feel free to correct on my postwar speculation.) So you're gonna buy these for BTS or something, killmore?
paullus
Russia continued producing T-34/85s until the late 1950's for export purposes. Several African countries have them, Cuba, and most of the old WP countries had them (even East Germany had a few hundred still in service until 1989). I doubt that many are still fully operational, but they were perfect for export to Third World countries that needed a simple to operate MBT, and couldn't afford the newer models. killmore
Well I was wondering about buying one. But then again - I don't think I would be able to restore it myself.
