Raze
Are you guys seeing this? 1). Mortars firing at a stationary target much less accurate then a moving target, 2). HQ directed fire targets a unit when aimed, but continues to fire (area effect) when target is destroyed, 3). Mortars average three rounds to destroy a vehicle (even when moving-see #1). ------------------ "The art of fighting without fighting..."
Theron
1) I haven't seen this. 2) I thought that this is the way that it is supposed to work. The HQs can only give indirect fire instructions. HQ + mortar ~ artillery mortar spotter 3) I haven't seen this either, but often a mortar will fire its next shot before the first one lands i.e. I hear them go pop-pop then those few shots land before they send some more. Wojorider
My problem is with #2. My platoon leader is directing the motar unit 30 yards behind him, Why can't or doesn't he yell CEASE FIRE! I can understand a shell or two that is in the air, but I've had 10 shells land after the target was destroyed or moved from that location. The motars dont carry enough ammo to be that wasteful. ------------------ Wojorider Its a great day to kill a Hun
