MCab
What is the US Army's policy on taking a sabbatical from duty? In case this question sounds silly, I'll go hide behind some rocks over here. The reason why I ask this is because I plan on being a physician in the Army, but I am considering taking some time to use my medical talent in mission work. I know I'd have 30 days vacation, but what if I needed more? Thanks, MCab

You can use your leave time to do whatever or go where ever you want, unless its on a "Restricted Countries" list. The only way that would change is if you were assigned TDY (Temp Duty) but thats doubtful. You could check on being assigned to a region that has a miitary presence operating in it, ie: South America etc, but I'm not sure they would send a cherry(new guy, untrained) doc to it. ------------------ brad
