Guest PeterNZ
This is partly for the CMMC, partly as an assist for the game... but can someone direct me to some information on the definitin of a battlion, regiment etc etc etc.. cos this will be usefull for me in the CMMC and also when i play the game and try and work out where to stick these 'left over' units :> PeterNZ
Guest Seimerst
Hooo Boy.... I am sure the archives handle this one but here goes: First of all this is going to be VERY Generic for an infantry bn; Five soldiers equal a rifle fire team; two fire teams equal a rifle squad three squad and a weapons (mg, AT)squad make a platoon; three rifle platoons make a Company(some have a mortar platoon); three companies (and support company, and BN HQ) make up a rifle bn, three bns make up a regiment (or brigade) Now there are all sorts variations on this theme by nationality and TO&E and year. But you have the general outline. Now factor in combat losses and the number of "muddy boots on the ground" will not be even close what is on the organizational rolls. Guest PeterNZ
Ta, that's bassically what i wanted to know. So a Bn commander commands a group that is bassically about the same size as the ones we've been playing in the demos and will end up playing in the game right? cool PeterNZ
argie
Nope. In the demo we were basically playing companies. The only scenario in which you roughly command a Bn is in Chance Encounter as german. Hakko Ichiu
The information originally in this post was incorrect. The persons responsible for putting together this information have been shot.
