Ricky Posted July 7, 2000 Share Posted July 7, 2000 When you target the enemy with a tank and it asks the Yes|No question as to whether or not you want to use the Main Gun, why when you say NO does nothing happen?? i.e the tank doesn't fire a shot from either weapon. I assumed saying NO meant that you wanted the tank to use it's machinegun instead. But the tank simply does nothing. Why? Some tanks (tank destroyers for example, such as the US M10 Hellcat) have a machine gun on top of the turret for the tank commander to use. However, if the tank is buttoned up, your vehicle will not be able to fire its machine gun because the gun is external. The sherman on the other hand can fire machine guns from inside the tank(buttoned up) (coax machine gun) without a problem. Unbutton your tank commander and see if you can spray machine gun fire. Just remember this... If your tank destroyer is anywhere close to enemy small arms fire..within 250 meters...the tank commander will overide your decision to use machine guns out of fear of being killed in action.
