W583 Posted December 23, 1999 Share Posted December 23, 1999 Um... there is no way a King tiger's 88mm L70 gun kill a M1A1's chorbham armor that =600mm agaist all ammunitions, besides the M1A1 have 1500mm amor agaist HEAT rounds. anyone agree with me? Guest scurlock Posted December 23, 1999 Share Posted December 23, 1999 The tigers are doomed. Even if the armor is overrated it still doesn't have the kind of punch neccessary to penitrate the M1. The Although a world beater in its heyday the gun and its ammo are quite antiquated by todays standards. Not to mention the tiger II's mobility of a slug. Couple that with the fact the M1 can hide behind smoke while still being able to "see" and destroy his apponents, it's extreamly fast target aquisition rate (five kills in a minute is not an impossible task for a trained crew with a fast loader), and it's ability to move and fire faster than the tiger could track it: the highly touted tiger II becomes just another jerry cooker.
