If there are will they be able to be used as a defensive position like in D-Day. In the mission builder will you be able to place pill boxes and barb wire any where or does it come with the certain map? Can you make trenchs in the mission editor? Guest Big Time Software Posted February 21, 1999 Share Posted February 21, 1999 Massive hills for sure, mountains certainly not. They are too big to fit in with CM's scale. You can make a mountain scenario, but since it would only consist of a small section of whole, the map would look more like a large, rough slope or something like that. There is a height limitation as well, but it should be enough to allow plenty of flexibility. So far we have pillboxes, barbed wire, anti-personnel mines, antitank mines, pre-plotted artillery markers, and roadblocks in and working. We also have foxholes in and working to some extent. Defensive elements can be placed by the player, but we are most likely going to allow the scenario designer to "nail" such elements down beforehand. Fionn Posted February 21, 1999 Share Posted February 21, 1999 Yes, please do let scenario designers nail down defensive positions etc. It would make a mockery of ones scenario design if the player could move ALL defensive positions at will.. Will it be possible to allow the scenario designer to nail SOME positions down but leave other player-controlled? e.g. Nail 90% of the MLR positions in place but allow the player some flexibility to move advance positions OPs etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boris Balaban Posted February 21, 1999 Share Posted February 21, 1999 I am an old player of AH games since 1971 and in Panzer Blitz and Squad Leader if you concentrate your defenceive position the attacker can zero in his big guns and chew up the defenders and if the defender buys lots of pill boxes, mines and barbed wire they will not have the man power to defend the position, they will crumble quickly.
