Michael Emrys Posted April 16, 2014 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I could be mistaken, but my understanding is that mortars of that size do not use triggers. There is a fixed firing pin at the base of the tube and when the bomb strike it that fires the propellent. What I was thinking about a possible problem with firing 81mm ammo in an 82mm tube was that due to the tube being slightly oversize, the bomb might wobble a bit on the way out and that might effect accuracy and dispersion.
