Fionn
I just saw a motorised rifle squad down to 4 men carrying an MG42 and 3 MP40s (or 44s. I forget). Point is that it's close-range firepower was virtually undiminished BTW about the SMG squad thing.. I just took out 30 plus US infantry for a total of 2 casualties in one of my SMG platoons. It was a slight ambush which occured at about 30 metres and thus the US infantry simply whithered in the face of my bullets. By the time a German squad is to half the manpower most still have their MG42.. My point was that with equal firepowers a German squad would be down to 2 men (with a HIGH chance of losing the MG42) by the time the US squad would only be down to 6 men (with a very high chance of both Thompsons and the BAR still being in action). ------------------ ___________ Fionn Kelly Manager of Historical Research, The Gamers Net - Gaming for Gamers
Rob Deans
Now what I have to do is to find an example of a three or four man American section and the same German one and compare firepower. (I haven't taken the time yet) Cancel last......Quick posting by other parties answered my questions for me. Thanks Rob Deans [This message has been edited by Rob Deans (edited 11-08-99).]
