Pirate Bill
OK, this is already in the drivers thread, but it was totally lost in the other stuff. Mac with Voodoo cards get blank screens on startup, and a type 2 error if they can somehow get to the actual game. What they do to get it working, outside of playing in software? davidh
Go to the 3Dfx website and download the latest drivers. I have a Microconversions Game Wizard Voodoo2 12 MB card, and had the problems you're having until I did this. The drivers posted at Microconversions website are out of date and useless. Good luck, and post here again if you're still having trouble.
Pirate Bill
I just got the generic drivers from 3dfx. The game will run now, but only in software mode! What the heck?!
Guest Big Time Software
What's the max resolution of your Voodoo card? 640x480? 800x600? Set your monitor to that resolution and try again, and it should run in accelerated mode. (We're working on making this more elegant). davidh
Did you install all three extensions and make them all active? You should have: 3Dfx GlideLib2.x vers.2.56.00.04 3Dfx GlideLib3.x vers.3.03.00.06 3Dfx RAVE vers.1.0d15 Otherwise, what is your hardware/OS setup? (I know exactly how frustrated you feel... before I got the newer drivers I tried to play in software rendering and it HURT!)
Colin
I'm using a 3dfx Voodoo 2 1000 (PC card) and 3dfx's generic drivers and CM runs great!!!! ------------------ "I'm tired of quotes, tell me what you know" -Mark Twain

Pirate Bill
OK, I reduced resolution, and now it works great. But my card can only support 640x480! Doh! By the way, doesn't CM support glide on PCs?
Ben Galanti
I'm pretty sure that it is DirectX only. BTS wanted to use the platform standard 3D APIs, so they went with DirectX and RAVE only.
