howardb Posted November 29, 1999 Share Posted November 29, 1999 TSS: I won't argue about the Stg44 and AK47 but I think Lokesa has a point about ppsh41's. I've heard that if you dismantle the AK47 you'll see that much of the solutions in the weapons are the same as on the Stg44 (I've never opened either so I won't argue). However I don't actually think you would get very accurate fire over anything than 100m simply because the bolt's in ww2 halfautomatic rifles aren't good enough. They deliver a very different pressure to the chamber for each round fired (that's the main reason bolt action rifles are more acurate), add in the fact of wartime production and you won't get very acurate weapons I own a Sauer 200 STD myself it has 6 locks on the bolt compared to the 2 or 3 on the Mausser 98k to give you a comparison.
