We designed CM to maximize speed and squeeze as many textures into VRAM as possible, so it can run on computers that are not top of the line. The cost is flexibility, so in a future release we'll add 32-bit support. Thing is, the 16-bit coloring looks so good I doubt you can tell the difference. I can't.
