noob
I'm going to use this thread to post all the results from the tests for spotting. Test 1 : The two tanks are facing each other 2000m apart on a gravel road lined with high bocage on a perfectly flat map. The test is done as a two player hot seat battle using the Elite setting. The weather is clear, cool, no wind, 12:00pm. The crews are Regular and are in CC with a Regular Forward Observer, the tanks are buttoned. After 100 tests the results were as follows: The Sherman spotted the Pz IV first 48 times, the Pz IV spotted the Sherman first 52 times, all sightings were confirmed enemy tank sightings. Next test is the same but unbuttoned.
dieseltaylor
Are you going to record time to spotting also for both tanks?
c3k
It would be interesting to see if removing the bocage would change anything. It would also be interesting to see if placing the tanks abeam one another, such that they're 90^ off-axis, would change anything. (Note that you're testing how a PzIV spots a Sherman and how a Sherman spots a PzIV. To compare PzIV spotting to Sherman spotting you'd need to have them spot the same kind of target.)
noob
Are you going to record time to spotting also for both tanks? Yes, i will create another table like my original one but on a Google website list page with a publicly accessible link.
