BTW, all the claims Russia makes about Ukraine killing its own people and framing Russia.  Obviously we all know that it's complete crap, but sometimes a lie can pass the initial sniff test even if it is not believed.  In this case, it doesn't.  Ukraine and the world are already as motivated as they can be to kick Russia out of Ukraine.  Killing its own people doesn't make them more motivated.  Therefore, Ukraine has no incentive to kill its own people.  I know it's pretty obvious to us, but I'm tossing it out there as an easy way to debunk anybody who is calling incidents like the train station "false flag" attacks.

A number of commentators including ones who post on this topic have compare Russia's war in Ukraine to the Winter War. Here is a Pro-Soviet propaganda pamphlet published by the Russia Today Society. The rhetoric in this pamphlet sounds familiar.

How a right wing party can be pro Putin is beyond me.

I've noticed that Putin enjoys the support of both far left and far right political parties around the world.

Never made sense to me until I found out that one of Putin's big influences on his views on geopolitics is someone named Alexander Dugin.

Dugin is a "National Bolshevik" who wants Russia to conquer even more territory.

This video touches on Dugin as well as the geopolitical aspects of the war in Ukraine. a little info on the military side of things but nothing close as good as the info this topic has. 😃

From what I heard Georgia is a popular destination for Russians who want to leave Russia quickly.

I do wonder if eventually Putin will close Russia's borders to those who want to leave.

I used to think Tom Clancy was schlock and hokum, enjoyable, but schlock and hokum nevertheless.

Now I'm thinking the man, God rest his soul, was on to something with his plot device in RSR where the KGB "present the best case scenario of an invasion" to the Kremlin in order to score some political points. I would love to have heard the intel briefings given to Putin throughout February. Or perhaps Putin was more like MacArthur, and just ignored what his intelligence types told him.

Here's a more recent Tom Clancy book with a plot you may find interesting.

That is indeed the Russian Embassy at Warsaw, wether that smoke is actually coming from documents being burned, I guess is debatable

If they were burning documents it is likely related to Poland deciding to expel Russian diplomats who are working for Russian intelligence.
